    Skinner – Climb Coach UK

    About me

I hold RCI, CWDI, FCA, DCA and ML qualifications and completed the CWMA Route Setting RS2 course in 2008 before qualifying as an IRATA level 1 in 2015.I am a GB Climbing Development Coach (GBNDS in SE/London) and the National Product Manager for NICAS, delivering training at climbing facilities throughout the UK.

I have been climbing for 20 years and involved in other outdoor activities since a young age. My achievements include an extensive portfolio of climbing, bouldering and mountaineering. I enjoy all aspects of the sport, however I am passionate about British Trad and mountain routes. I have completed first ascents in Antarctica up to V5, currently Trad climb around VS, Sport climb around 6b, and have summited numerous peaks in both summer and winter conditions, up to 4,167m in height.

    Your Setting Experience

I have set at venues throughout the UK for almost 15 years and have trained staff “in-house” to assist with stripping/setting, PPE checks and wall maintenance (following ABC guidelines, WAHR, LOLER and PUWER regulations).

These facilities include specialist independent training walls, bouldering facilities and roped climbing centres up to 14 meters in height.

For the past 6 years I have been working at The Lock Climbing Wall in Essex, which involved regular setting (monthly) including individual events and local competitions.

I have a strong understanding of the indoor climbing environment and climbing movement. I previously worked for Entre-Prises Climbing Walls and was the Structural Maintenance Co-Ordinator for The Castle Climbing Centre. I am a GB Climbing Development Coach (GBNDS in SE/London) and the National Product Manager for NICAS, delivering training at climbing facilities throughout the UK.

I hold RCI, CWDI, FCA, DCA and ML qualifications and completed the “CWMA Route Setting RS2” course in 2008 before qualifying as an IRATA level 1 in 2015.
